ShareNet is a web based application which runs on your local PC, giving you a feature rich environment for accessing the Internet, creating content, and
sharing your experiences with friends.

Internet Shortcuts (Favorites/Bookmarks) |

Synchronize and organize all your Internet Shortcuts and display them on your home page. Open individual shortcuts, or a group of shortcuts, with a single click. Customised views provides intelligent filtering, either by recently visited or newly added. |

Chats |
| |
Create and maintain your own personal chats, which can then be shared with your friends. Each time you add a new chat, an automatic alert is sent to all friends letting them know you have new content. Chats can include formated text, as well as pictures. |

Downloads |
| |
ShareNet is able to monitor a folder you nominate, so your friends are able to see what you're currently downloading from the Internet. Configure your scan interval for once per day, or multiple times per hour, and filter the types of files you wish to be displayed. |

Friends |
| |
By granting a Friend access you your ShareNet site, they can see and contribute to your content. They will be able to view and launch your Internet shortcuts, see what you're currently downloading from the Internet, and contribute to any chats you've created. |

Automatic alerts are sent to all your friends, under the following conditions:

Search Bar |
| |
A configurable search bar gives you quick access to searching your favorite Internet sites. Search results can be displayed embedded within your Sharenet Site, or opened in a new window. |

Presence Information |

ShareNet also has the ability to display presence information about your friends, showing you if they are currently online or offline. If online, it will shows how long since they were actively using their ShareNet site. |

Themes - Multiple colored themes are available, giving you the option to select the color scheme which most appeals to you |

Tabs - Create your own tabs, and set the visibility to either show or hide tabs |

Polling Schedules - Different configurable schedules for querying for alerts, or scanning your Downloads folder |

Security |
| |
Access to your ShareNet site is only possible once you have granted a person access. This is achieved by creating a Friend, and restricting access to their domain name. If you are not sure what a domain name is, or don't have one, please refer to ShareNet's installation documentation - it's very easy (and free) to create your own Internet Domain name e.g. mydomain.homedns.org |
