Role-Based Access Control

Role-Based Access Control

Role-based access permissions in Passwordstate ensures only authorised access to sensitive data is possible, and governance of Passwordstate usage is well managed.

Multiple roles and permissions are available for general users, and Security Administrators.

Password Access Roles

Read, modify and admin permissions can be granted to Password Lists and individual Passwords, either to individual users or users who have membership within a Security Group.

Organizing access for multiple user accounts is simplified with the use of Security Groups. Security groups can be local to Passwordstate, or synchronized with Active Directory Security Groups.

Security Administrator Roles

Every feature within the 'Administration' area of Passwordstate has an associated role. Security Administrators can be assigned on or more of these roles.

The following type of 'Security Administrator' roles are available in Passwordstate:

  • User Accounts
  • Security Administrators
  • Security Groups
  • Password Lists
  • Reporting
  • Export All Passwords
  • Auditing
  • Email Templates
  • Password Strength Policy
  • Active Directory Domains
  • System Settings
  • Licensing
