Frank
We were wondering if it's possible to add a "Notes" section to local security groups. That way we could add a line to indicate why someone was moved into/out of a certain group. The idea would be exactly the same as the Notes tab under a password, except it would be used in a different place. Groups already have a description field, but it's single-line so with a reasonable amount of text it would become pretty unreadable.
support
Hi Frank, Thanks for your request. Are you aware there is full auditing for this as well? You can report on this auditing in real-time, or create scheduled reports based off this Auditing activity reports. Regards Click Studios
Frank
I'm not aware of an auditing option related to this. All the auditing logs I can find only apply to password lists, not security groups. The audit report option has a bunch of activity types but none like "User added to security group". I also don't think we can specify a custom reason this way?
support
Hi Frank, There is the Auditing activity of 'User Account Added to Security Group', but you're correct in that you cannot specify a reason when doing this. Regards Click Studios
Frank
Would it then be possible to either implement the reason field for the audit log or the request from the first post?
support
Hi Frank, We could look at either option for you. If other customers vote on this request as well, then we can raise the priority for you. Regards Click Studios
