Buckit
Hi guys, I'm working on upgrading my DEV/TEST bed and I've noticed horrible download speeds on the upgrade package. I've snagged the URL from the upgrade process which points at passwordstate_upgrade.zip. This 180MB file will take all of three hours to download. O_O Is this a CDN issue? I'm grabbing it with my usual Macbook, on my normal network which works fine otherwise.
Buckit
Ooofff, it's been downloading for six hours now, sitting at 113/180MB. That's throughput from fifteen years ago
support
Hi Buckit, Yeah that's a terrible speed and not quite sure why it would be taking that long. We introduced a CDN network at the beginning of Passwordstate 8, and so far haven't had any reports of it taking this long. I've seen a few minutes before, but even that is slow for 180mb. Is this the URL you are downloading from? https://www.clickstudios.com.au/getupgradefile.aspx Or is it this one: https://www.clickstudios.com.au/downloads/passwordstate_upgrade.zip The first is our CDN network, the second is directly from our website hosted here in Australia. This is a long shot but could there be anything interrogating/scanning the zip file on your MAC as it is streaming down to your machine? Thanks, Support. Buckit
I was using the latter link, as that's the one that was shown in the error message of the failed upgrade. I'd started the upgrade, which failed in properly downloading the required file. The error message informed me to try again, or to download https://www.clickstudios.com.au/downloads/passwordstate_upgrade.zip . So I guess that path's still hard-coded into some parts of PasswordState. Might I suggest you change those Anywho, mystery solved :P
support
And as of 2 minutes ago, it's no longer hard-coded Regards Click Studios
