Hi, I am just exploring this program. We are primarily interested in in AD integration. are there screenshots or videos on that specific element?

There's tons of information in the documentation, refer to the User Manual and Security Administrators manual here https://www.clickstudios.com.au/documentation/

Screenshots are here: https://www.clickstudios.com.au/passwordstate-screenshots.aspx

Videos are here: https://www.clickstudios.com.au/passwordstate-videos.aspx

Hi expat1000,

Can you let us know what sort of AD integration you are interested in, and then we can point you do the correct information i.e. are you wanting users to login with their AD account, or are you wanting to perform Password Resets on Active Directory accounts.

And yes, when we first install Passwordstate it is using HTTPS - using a self-signed certificate. By default Self-Signed certificates are not trusted by the browser, but we have instructions in our installation guide (which comes with your download) to show you how to trust it. Ideally you should be assigning your own trusted SSL certificate to the site in IIS.

... Which is a snap once you have the cert available. A simple matter of importing it on the host in question and then telling IIS to use it.

Of course, where you procure the cert is a different matter ;) That fully depends on how your company's chosen to tackle this matter.

Hi. Thanks for the info on HTTPS The scenario we would like to have is users set their own passwords with GPO restrictions which we can do now, but admin can view them. We can reset now with ADUC of course, but can't see them. Make sense?

Hello,

The following forum post shows how to configure Active Directory passwords resets in Passwordstate - https://www.clickstudios.com.au/community/index.php?/topic/1733-active-directory-password-reset-example/

This is really more designed for resetting service accounts, and not user accounts, because if a user resets their own AD password whilst logged into Passwordstate, they may start getting account lockout issues - as they would still be logged into the domain using the old password. I hope that makes sense?

If users are wanting to reset the AD password if they forget it, or if they lock their account, then our Password Reset Portal is a better option - https://www.clickstudios.com.au/resetportal/default.aspx
