support

Recommended Posts

The following information is located in a tool tip within Passwordstate in 2 places - both shown in screenshots below.  A majority of the new search functionality is included in Build 7672, but will be completed along with Information Icon in the screenshots below in the next build. We Estimate this will be published approximately Mid June 2016 (We'll update this post when released)

Tool Tip Reads As Follows:

Below is some information on the two types of search which are supported, as well as a list of the fields which will be searched. Searches are not case sensitive.

Wildcard Searching
Wildcard searching can be achieved by simply entering one or more search criteria separated by spaces.

Example 1: Administrator -> You could use this criteria to find a match in any of the fields for the value of 'Administrator'
Example 2: Administrator desktop1 -> You could use this criteria to find a match for the UserName field of 'Administrator', and also a match for the Host field of 'desktop1'
Example 3: sa SQL -> You could use this criteria to find a match for the UserName field of 'sa', and also a match in the Account Type field of 'SQL'

Exact Match Searching
Exact match searching can be achieved by surrounding your search criteria in double quotes.

Example: "admin login" -> With this search criteria, it will look for an exact match across any of the fields i.e. if Title = 'admin login', or Description = 'admin login', etc.

Searched Fields
Below is a list of all the fields which can be searched. The only exception to this is any Generic Fields which are configured to be encrypted.

  • Title
  • Domain or Host (if configured for Password Resets)
  • UserName
  • Description
  • Account Type
  • Notes
  • URL
  • TreePath
  • All 10 Generic Fields
