McAfee and Constant Logout Problems

Hi Everyone,

 

We seem to be getting a few support request lately for issues with Passwordstate logging out users, before the default session time of 10 minutes.

 

After some investigations, it seems McAfee's On-Access scan is causing the problems. The scan process isn't blocking the accessing of any files, but when it scans either the web.config file, or any files in the /bin folder, it can cause sessions in IIS to end.

 

We recommend excluding the Passwordstate folder from On-Demand scanning, as this has helped a lot of customers.

 

If anyone else is seeing the same symptoms but using a different AV software suite, could you please let us know.
