  1. Suggestions:

1 – New role for a shared password lists for View-only and connot add/delete/change passwords on the list

2 – Directly add the password to your clipboard to eliminate the need to unmask the password and copy it to the clipboard to paste it into the applications password field.

3 – A way to securely send a user a password without the need to create a shared list. Say I need to send a user a password sucurely, so can not use e-mail and the phone is inconvienent, perhaps I, as an administrator can add it to their personal password list without actaully having access to see their personal password list.

4 – Encrypt the connection string in the web.config.

  3. Can share a password account within the Password List Folder. Not only the Password List but also having an option to share an account within the Password List Folder, this will make our Password List as organized as possible. Implementing this in a company, which surely be handling lots of accounts, this will be more effective.

  4. I havent tried the latest version, so this comment may not be valid. But does password state allow a heirarchy folder structure to be developed:

    eg

    Internal Passwords
    Servers
    Hosting
    Infrastructure

    Customers
    Customer1
    Servers
    Hosting
    Infrastructure

    Customer2
    Servers
    Hosting
    Infrastructure

    Hi Steve,

The current version doesn’t support this folder structure, but it’s definitely something we will be including in the next release.

Thanks for taking the time to leave some comments Steve.

    – ability to attach documents to entries
    – ability to specify security groups to share passwords with

    Hi Ioan,

Thanks for your kind words about our product – we do appreciate the feedback.

Also some great suggestions for new features as well. We’re considering both local groups within Passwordstate, and Active Directory Domain Security Groups. We’ll need to consider the implications of the domain security groups, as some customers may wish to control who can gain access to shared password lists i.e. we may need to include some form of workflow approval when new users are added to security groups.

      Hi Ben,

Thanks for the suggestions and positive feedback. Definitely working on your first two suggestions, and we’ll investigate what’s involved for adding attachments.

  9. Also the ability to generate passwords matching the appropriate policy would be extremely useful!
